Match Preview: Luton Town v Spurs after the controversy! My prediction, team news, line up and much more…

Yes, it all happened at Tottenham last weekend when we played crybabies Liverpool. I haven't seen so many upset scousers since the invention of locking wheel nuts. Get over it… how many times has VAR gone in their favour, and they've kept quiet? It was a mistake, the same mistakes that have done Tottenham and other teams out of points over the years… moving on…

… well, I say moving on… let us lighten the mood at the expense of Scousers and then to the Luton game…

Q: Why does the river Mersey run through Liverpool?

A: Because if it walked, it would be mugged.

Q If you see a Scouser on a bike, why should you never swerve to hit him?

A: It might be your bike

Q: Why wasn't Jesus born in Merseyside?

A: Because God couldn't find three wise men and a virgin

To the Luton game and forget about the red scousers (for the time being).

We face newly promoted strugglers – but not as struggling as Burnley, Bournemouth and Sheffield United, at least for now – Luton Town at their Kenilworth Road ground this Saturday. Kick-off at 12.30 pm

If we win this game, we will temporarily rise to the top of the Premier League table. Unless Arsenic draws or beats City, then it won't be that temporary.

Even though we scraped past a nine-man Liverpool team 2-1 and Liverpool protested, we got the points… now we are just one point behind leaders Manchester City because of their loss to Wolves.

Team News…

Brennan Johnson picked up a hamstring injury against Arsenic in September's North London derby and was nowhere to be seen against Liverpool. Still, the Welshman avoided a serious problem and might be able to force his way into contention for the weekend.

Ivan Perisic will spend months recovering from the ACL injury he sustained in training last month.

Rodrigo Bentancur is entering the final stages of his recovery from a serious knee problem. Still, he has yet to return to full-team training and is not expected back for several weeks.

Ryan Sessegnon is believed to have resumed light training as he rehabilitates from the hamstring operation he sustained over the summer. He will also be unavailable until the end of November at the earliest.

Bryan Gil is reportedly back in full training with his teammates following his groin issue, and there is hope that he will be back in competitive action before the end of the month.

Giovani Lo Celso's thigh injury is proving more difficult to overcome than first thought, and he is expected to miss out again on Saturday ahead of a possible return in the latter stages of October.

Alfie Whiteman is on the road to recovery from ankle surgery, with no timeframe on his return, but he is only on the fringes of the first team anyway.

We have no players suspended for this match, but Yves Bissouma has picked up four Premier League yellow cards this season and will incur a one-match ban if he is booked on Saturday.

Tottenham & Both Teams to Score

We are unbeaten in our last nine meetings with Luton, but both teamsr haven't played each since 1992.

Luton have lost five of their opening seven league games.

We have won five of our opening seven league games.

Both teams have scored in four of Luton's last six outings.

Each of our last five matches in all competitions have produced goals at both ends of the pitch.

Son is our top scorer this season, with six league goals.

Son has scored 3-goals in his last two league games.

Last season Son only scored ten league goals and looks likely to surpass that tally in the 2023/24 campaign.

My predicted Lineup – Vicario (GK), Romero, Porro, van de Ven, Udogie, Maddison, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Sarr, Son & Richarlison

My Prediction…

Goal-wise, I have been wide of the mark; result-wise… pretty good, only missing out by wrongly predicting wins, but got draws instead (Brentford & Arsenic and Old Lace). However, I shall go for a 5-0 win (or more).

Luton Town 0 Spurs 5 (or more).

That is it… other than saying that our Saturday game tickets don't have seat numbers; it is a case of first come, first sit where they/ we want. Just like in the old days when you had to queue up at Tottenham or any league game, pay at the gate, and then rush to your seat or place of standing.

Other results to look out for (and my prediction):-

Saturday

Burnley to beat or draw with pochettino's Blue boiled Chelski

Man United lose to Brentford

Sunday

Brighton to win or draw with Liverpool

The Spammers draw with Newcastle United

Arsenic draw with City

To end on a positive note… some more jokes…

St Peter was guarding the Pearly Gates when 40 scousers turn up. Being the first time he had ever seen anyone from Liverpool arrive at Heaven's door, he wasn't sure what to do.

He left his post to go and ask God for advice. God in his Almighty wisdom instructed St Peter to go back and ask them about any virtuous deeds they had done in their lives.

A few minutes later, St. Peter returned to God, looking shocked.

"They're gone!"

"What, all of them?" replied God with surprise.

"Not just them", said St Peter, "the Pearly Gates!"

What do you call a scouser in a suit?

The accused

What do you call a scouse girl in a white-shellsuit?

The bride

Why can't you circumcise a Scouser?

Because there is no end to those pricks.

Up the Spurs!!!

COYS!

Glenn

PS I am sure that the Scousers have a sense of humour… you have to, to produce comedians like Ken Dodd, etc.
