Disaster is looming at the Tottenham Stadium
Disaster is looming at the Tottenham Stadium.
Tottenham could be in financial difficulties as it has just been reported of a multi-million-pound financial blow.
The club are in an exceptionally perilous position due to the debt the club owe on the stadium. Various events and NFL matches are crucial to repaying the financial burden on the stadium, and the stadium was designed with these in mind. On top of that the naming rights deal is yet to be agreed.
Our club have suffered a substantial financial blow as it has been confirmed that the club’s stadium will not host American football this year. The club currently has a 10-year agreement with our American partners to host two matches per season.
The Daily Mail reported on Sunday that the entire American Football season is likely to be completed in the United States. They disclosed that the club could lose in excess of £4 million in revenue if the games scheduled to be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are moved.
The NFL have now confirmed the club’s fears by revealing that all the games this season will be played in the NFL teams’ stadium. This includes those that were supposed to be played in the UK.
The Mirror also reports that our stadium could suffer additional losses with the Capital’s Summertime Ball, Anthony Joshua’s fight with Kubrat Pulev, and the Guns N’ Roses concert all unlikely to go ahead this summer if Boris Johnson confirms a lockdown extension.
What looked like a rosy future for the stadium is now in doubt. On top of that, it is possible that the rest of this season could be played behind closed doors. If that isn’t bad enough, there is talk in the press that the entire next season also could be played behind closed doors. As they say, it doesn’t rain, but pours. I bet levy and co are having kittens?
Also; Premium season ticket holders/ Box holders have also paid for next season’s tickets. It won’t be long before there is an uproar over money being returned. Talking about kicking somebody when they are down.
How will all this affect the team and the transfer window? Crystal ball, anybody?
