Match Preview: Spurs vs Liverpool – my prediction, team news, lineups and much more.
Since Ange
Postecoglou took over, we've gone from strength to strength. In the first game
of the season, we drew away to Brentford (2-2), then a 2-0 victory over United
at home. Bournemouth followed, where we also got a two-goal win. Then, there
was a tricky game against newly promoted Sheffield United, who thought they had
won, but in the dying minutes, our new non-stop Ange battling philosophical mentality
finally got the goals in extra time to claim all three points.
But the test that
would show Postecoglou had finally arrived was against our North London rivals,
Arsenic and Old Lace… and it was in their back garden of drugs, promiscuity and
crime-infested beetle dung lair where we achieved it. That match ended 2-2, but
they only got their goals through mistakes by Romero, while ours were clear,
honest goals (Son getting both). Test one is completed and passed; next up will
be Liverpool, a more robust test. This time in our own back garden.
We, along with the
Scousers, Gooners, and City, are still undefeated. And may it long continue…
that is us, not the other three… hopefully their record will collapse soon…
starting with Liverpool this weekend. Arsenic will face Bournemouth on their
ground, while Wolves face City on their patch of land. We mustn't forget
Pochettino's Chelski, who are looking for their second victory in the Premier
League. They face Fulham at Craven Cottage on the Monday after this weekend.
(Come on, you Cottagers!!!!!!)
Tottenham Hotspur and
Liverpool will put their unbeaten Premier League records on the line when they
square off in Saturday evening's headline battle in North London.
As I said, we took a
point each at the Emirates in a 2-2 draw last weekend, while the Reds most
recently overcame Leicester City 3-1 in the EFL Cup.

preview
Ange Postecoglou left
the Emirates achieving a feat that Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho or Nuno
Espirito Santo could not manage to do during their ill-fated spells in the hot
seat; yes, our manager left the enemy territory, having navigated us to a
hard-earned point against the Gooners, who twice took the lead through a
Cristian Romero own goal and Bukayo Saka spot-kick (penalty given because of a Romero
handball).
Only three previous
Premier League managers had seen their side score twice in their first six
games in charge - Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola and Craig Shakespeare - but
with Liverpool and Brighton prevailing last weekend, we slipped from second to
fourth in the rankings. Hopefully, that will change this weekend, and we will
shoot back up to the top. We are only four points behind City and 2 pts behind
Liverpool, who sit in second place.

News
Brennan Johnson
suffered a hamstring injury 60 minutes into his full debut. In contrast, James
Maddison suffered a knee jolt but managed to soldier on briefly before being
withdrawn.
However, scans on
Maddison's knee are believed to have provided reassuring results, and Ange is
optimistic that he will be fit. Johnson is more of an uncertainty; Richarlison
is on hand to deputise.
My
possible starting lineup:
Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven,
Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison
My
prediction…
I have been wide of
the mark this season over my predictions (goal-wise); however, I've predicted
the right result four times out of six, with the other two being draws. This
time around, I am (again) going for a win.
Spurs 3
Liverpool 2
I gave the same
result to us over Arsenic.
Both teams have
recently made up for defensive shortcomings with a glut of goals at the correct
end of the field, and Saturday's encounter should be no different.
Maddison's fitness
will be imperative to us, but the Scousers are proving an incredibly tough nut
to crack once again. However, I believe Aussie-Greek-Ange can get one over on
the German.
That is it for now…
Up the Spurs!
COYS!!!!!
