Has Daniel Levy finally started to smell the coffee (early transfers)?

Well, well, well… it is not yet Friday, 1 September (the closing of the transfer window), and we've already signed Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Dejan Kulusevski, and there are still two months to go.

What has happened? Has Levy finally woken up and realised his transfer policies and continuously picking the wrong players, and wrong managers really doesn't work? And of course no trophies. Has he finally met his match in Ange "G'day" Postecoglou?

Since Levy took over, he promised so much and has given so little (on the field of play). Granted, he made great strides in building a money-making monument and the ability to enrich himself in the process… but nothing on the field… After his managerial exploits and the humiliation heaped upon him because of his failures, has he finally woken up to what our club is really all about… glory, trophies and success?

In 2008, seven years after taking over, he won a minute trophy for us fans (The League Cup)… since then, sackings, bad purchases and humiliation ("Spursy") have followed us. And before you say it, yes, we got to a few finals (including the Champions League Final). Still, trophies didn't materialise from those games… just the notable sacking of the man who achieved a Champions League Final placing, Pochettino (now at Chelski; and hoping to achieve what he couldn't do under Levy's watchful purse string eyes).

Is Ange "G'day" Postecoglou that rare duckbilled platypus? And has Levy finally found the buddy with whom he can share an amber fluid nectar with… Kangaroo testicles on the Barbie while traditional Australian folk songs are sung; Tie me Kangaroo Down Sport, Waltz Matilda etc., pictures surround their campsite of Aussie heroes such as Rolf Harris, The Seekers, Barry Humphries etc… with the Rolf Harris girl singers quartet singing #Ging Gang Goolie#. Oh, I want to cry… Twenty-three years and Bill Nicholson is starting to smile down upon us. Our moment has finally come… (hold your horses, the season hasn't started yet, and he (Bruce) doesn't join us until 1 July.).

Time will tell… but after trying to pick the top managers in the world of football and being rejected, he finally settled upon a manager that can win trophies, granted, outside England and in the small fish bowl-pond of Scottish football, but trophies, none less.

I will wish Ange "G'day" Postecoglou all the luck in the world and hope that he does something that no manager under Levy's watchful eyes has managed to do. I will be supporting him with all my heart. We shouldn't be fooled by his lack of Premier League football experience. Oh, no… a Duckbill Platypus is a unique animal that lays eggs and is classified as a mammal. Due to this uniqueness, it is a very interesting animal… so, there… and we should see Ange "G'day" Postecoglou as that rare animal… somebody that football lovers can't define but is special. 

Back to the transfers… yes, we've purchased good players for Bruce and more are promised to come… with the deadwood banished to other lesser clubs… such as Harry Winks to the Championship League side Leicester Titty-City.

So, do we cheer Levy now and thank him or just hold our horses and see what will come? Let us not jump the gun, as too many false dawns under Levy have raised their ugly head above the parapet.

But I am excited about what is happening… as enthusiastic as when Conti promised us so much and delivered us so little…? Let us leave it there… lingering in the air for now!

Then there is Harry… will he or won't he? Whatever, don't leave us in suspender belts and please quickly decide… too much speculation won't do the team any good. If he goes, then we must think of who will replace him… if he stays, then batten down the hatches and start working with "G'day Bruce". Even get a trophy or three… Who knows what the future holds for us… but let us be optimistic and hope for the best…

On another matter… Pre-season tour…

Oh, the club have just announced a pre-season match against Shakhtar Donetsk dedicated to the people of Ukraine. Funds raised for this fixture will go to Shakhtar's charitable foundation to support the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine due to the armed conflict with Russia.

The game will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, 6 August (14:00 BST kick-off). I've just purchased four tickets for Mel, his wife, Janette, and myself. Looking forward to it.

What more can I say… other than roll on the transfer window and hope for more nice surprises from G'day Bruce and Daniel Levy to start flowing through… a turning of a new leaf? Hope so!
