Match Preview: Spurs v Brighton (we'll get better, or just being naïve?)

In my match preview for the Everton game, I said I thought we could have done better… one comment that came back was that I was being "naïve" and nothing would have changed under Conte's donkeys. I wouldn't say "naïve" but wishful thinking and "hope".

So, what do I expect for our game against Brighton? My head says a draw, my heart says a Brighton victory. Whatever way you look at it, it is a shambles. Conte is gone, our director of football was given a world ban and steps down at Spurs… the finger points directly at Levy; after all… the buck stops with him.

Now Tottenham are saying that season tickets are not going up… (that doesn't help me as I am Premium, and their tickets have gone up 3%). I wonder why? When all the other clubs have put their season tickets up (and we know what Levy is like… he would screw the last penny out of his dying mummy if he could)? Because of incompetence at the top… they don't want any more flack. That is the reason season tickets haven't gone up.

Anyway… we are in fifth position, upon facing Brighton, who are in sixth. A six-point difference… so whatever happens, they or anybody else won't be going above us this weekend… however, the likes of Newcastle and Manchester United can go further above us if they should win. Manchester United face Everton, while Newcastle face Brentford.

We were held to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park on Monday, while Brighton eased past Bournemouth 2-0.

Spurs…

We may have new names running the team, but nothing has really changed on the pitch.

A point at Goodison temporarily lifted us back into the Champions League position. Still, Manchester United's win over Brentford has since pushed us back down to fifth spot - three points adrift of the Red Devils and Newcastle United, both of whom have a game in hand.

A four-game unbeaten run in all tournaments can serve as a cause for some sort of joy, but each of our last four Premier League matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has ended in victory.

While we have possessed our own revered striker for several years now, fans continue to rant and rave about the new kid on the block at Brighton, as Evan Ferguson's stock rose further with his contribution at the Vitality Stadium.

Brighton…

The seagulls enjoy the glory of a seven-game unbeaten run in all tournaments; they have cemented themselves in sixth place in the Premier League table. While we hold an unassailable four-point lead over our upcoming opponent, Brighton's two games in hand could prove pivotal.

Kane's 100th Premier League goal away from home propelled us to a 1-0 win at the Amex earlier this season. Still, we lost by the same scoreline at our Tottenham stadium last season.

Spurs…

Lucas Moura began a three-game domestic ban.

Emerson Royal (knee), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ben Davies (hamstring), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Yves Bissouma (ankle) are out. While Richarlison (calf) is in doubt.

Son should continue to support Kane, who sits on 98 Premier League home goals and could soon become the first-ever Premier League player to notch a century home and away.

My possible starting lineup:

Prediction

My heart says 1-1, but my head says it will be 1-2 to Brighton

Brighton will feel positive about returning home with all three points in the bag. As for us; I can see the home crowd turning on Daniel Levy and ENIC for the catastrophe we've ended up with… and a laughing stock throughout the footballing world if we should lose or draw. The buck should stop with the Organ Grinders ( Enic/ Levy & Lewis). After all, they employed the football managers and then dictated what money should or shouldn't be taken away from enriching themselves and put towards the team.
