Champions League: Spur (0) v AC Milan (1)
Champions League: Spur (0) v AC Milan
(1)
After two defeats, we hope to bounce back and beat
AC and progress through to the next round of the Champions League (Quarter-finals).
After all… Conte is back… if that counts for anything. But he still has the
same team that suffered the two defeats under his assistant.
Son has stated that Wednesday's Champions League
last-16 second leg against AC Milan is "the most important game of the
season". No, kidding! Wasn't our continuous place in the FA Cup as
important or a top-four place? All victories are important… all results matter.
Otherwise, how will we ever achieve anything… get trophies etc.
We are looking to respond after a bad week in
which we lost to Sheffield United in the FA Cup and then at Wolves in the
Premier League.
As for the first leg of the Champions League in
Milan, we lost that and now need to win to keep our only realistic hopes of a
trophy alive.
Son continued, "The players are looking
forward to it, under the lights in our stadium, and we have to give everything
to make the fans proud and the club proud and to make us proud." As for
the other matches…
Our humiliation and exit from the FA Cup to
Championship opposition was particularly disappointing as we rarely looked like
taking victory in a limp display.

news
We
are still without long-term absentees Ryan Sessegnon, Hugo Lloris, Yves
Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur.
We
will also be working without the suspended Eric Dier after the England defender
picked up his third European caution of the campaign in the first leg.
Pierre-Emile
Hojbjerg is back from a European ban of his own, though.
Clement
Lenglet, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies should shield Fraser Forster again.
Emerson
Royal has done well, but Pedro Porro was arguably one of our biggest threats in
the defeat to Wolves and will not yield his place without a fight.
My
possible starting lineup:
Forster;
Romero, Lenglet, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane,
Son
Prediction…
It
will be a struggle, but I shall go for a 2-nil win (2-1 on aggr).
The
weather is not good… will be a long trip to Tottenham… fingers crossed that it will
be safe for all.
All
the best, Glenn
COYS!
