Match Preview: Nottingham Forest vs Spurs (my prediction, team news, lineup etc.)

Match Preview: Nottingham Forest vs Spurs (my prediction, team news, lineup etc.)

After our disastrous game against Liverpool (we should have won it), we move on to the League Cup. We will be looking to book a spot in the fourth round of the EFL Cup when we take on fellow Premier League teamers Nottingham Forest this Wednesday.

Match preview

Forest

Forest nearly suffered another defeat against Brentford at the weekend, with Yoane Wissa sending the Bees ahead in the 75th minute of the contest, but an own goal from Mathias Jorgensen in the sixth minute of added time at the end of the 90 secured a point for them. Nevertheless, they still remain bottom of the Premier League table. However, they are only three points behind 17th-placed Bournemouth on the same number of games.

The trees of Forest people's priority this season will unquestionably be to stay in the Premier League. They did manage to secure their spot in this competition by beating Grimsby Town 3-0 in August.

For those that are interested, Forest have won the League Cup on four separate occasions. Their last victory came back in 1989-90, when they recorded a 1-0 victory over Oldham Athletic in the final.

Tottenham

We enter this match off the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, which made it three losses from their last four games.

We have progressed to the knockout round of the Champions League and remain in fourth spot in the Premier League table, three points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United, having played a game more than them.

Team News

Forest

Forest will miss Omar Richards, Harry Toffolo, Giulian Biancone, Jack Colback and Moussa Niakhate.

Jesse Lingard, Renan Lodi, Willy Boll, Joe Worrall, Wayne Hennessey and Orel Mangala are expected to be handed starts. At the same time, Sam Surridge and Taiwo Awoniyi could come into the attack.

Spurs

We will still be without Son, who underwent surgery at the end of last week to address a fracture around his left eye.

Richarlison, though, could be back in the squad after recovering from a calf problem, while Cristian Romero has a slight chance of being involved.

My possible starting lineup:

Forster; Doherty, Sanchez, Tanganga, Lenglet, Sessegnon; Skipp, Bentancur, Bissouma; Lucas, Gil

My prediction 1-2

I am sure both managers will make changes, but I am going for us to win by 1-2. Conte will be able to call on the greater quality in reserve.

COYS!

Glenn
