We fought back well to get a point at Stamford Bridge and keep our unbeaten start to the new Premier League season. Our opponents this Saturday are Wolves, who have made a slow start to the campaign but did at least manage to get a point thanks to a goalless draw at home to newly-promoted Fulham.

With home advantage, it's hard to see anything but a win for us, especially as we have won three of our last four matches against this weekend's visitors. However, there is a good chance that we will see both teams scoring this Saturday, just as both teams have done in three of the last six encounters in all competitions.

To say the Chelsea vs Spurs game got a bit heated is an understatement, but it was actually off the pitch between the two managers at the final whistle that saw temperatures boil over. As of the game: Chelsea opened the scoring through Koulibaly in the 19th minute, with new signing Cucirella claiming an assist. In the second half, Tottenham equalised through Hojbjerg, but James fired Chelsea back in front 13-minutes from time. It looked like Chelsea had done enough to win, only for Harry Kane to pop up in the 96th minute to equalise.

This shows a determination not to drop heads when going behind since Conte took over.

Wolves are winless in their past nine Premier League games (D3 L6), their longest streak without a top-flight victory since a run of 17 between February 2012 and August 2018.

 

We have conceded first in both of our Premier League games this season, coming back to beat Southampton and draw with Chelsea. The last time we conceded first but avoided defeat in three consecutive Premier League games was in October 2010, beating Aston Villa and Fulham before drawing with Everton.

Since their return to the Premier League in 2018, Wolves have won just 29% of their Premier League games without Raul Jimenez in the starting XI.

Thoughts

After a wobble against Chelsea last weekend, I expect us to come back with vigour and strength of mind to get back on track and score the goals. We are currently 4^th in the Premier League with City, Woolwich, and, surprise, surprise, Brentford, who, without Christian Erikson, managed to put four past Manchester United with Erikson in their side, above us.
