Match Preview: Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur (I hope we get it right this time!)
Both teams wish to forget their previous games
and bounce back from humiliation. Liverpool thrashed Leeds by putting six goals
past them a couple of days ago, while our team was humbled by relegation
strugglers Burnley. We were beaten 1-0.
We have lost our last two visits to Elland
Road - going down 2-1 in the 2012-13 FA Cup before a 3-1 league defeat last
term - but we did run out 2-1 winners over them at our stadium earlier this
season.

News
Leeds
United
Robin Koch was substituted off after sustaining
an injury on February 20.
They remain without Patrick Bamford, Kalvin
Phillips, Liam Cooper and Sam Greenwood and were joined by Diego Llorente
before the Liverpool defeat with a hamstring strain.
Llorente could be dropped given his below-par
outing against Manchester United. Robin Koch is also set to sit this one out as
he is recovering from the head injury he sustained against United.
Spurs
We have been handed a fresh concern with Rodrigo
Bentancur, who was taken off at halftime after suffering an awkward fall at
Burnley.
Sergio Reguilon was fit enough for a place on
the bench and could now displace Ryan Sessegnon. Pierluigi Gollini is a doubt
due to illness, while Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga are fighting uphill
battles to recover from their injuries.
Conte could re-introduce Lucas Moura to the main
team, which would allow Dejan Kulusevski to move into a wing-back role as Emerson
Royal drops out.
My
possible starting lineup:
Lloris;
Romero, Dier, Davies; Kulusevski, Winks, Hojbjerg, Reguilon; Lucas, Kane, Son
My
thoughts and prediction for the Leeds game.
Leeds
United 1-2 Spurs
I know I keep saying this, but we must get back
on track and then try to limp into this year's summer Transfer window so that
Levy and Lewis can back Conte up with hard cash. In the meantime, I am hoping
that there are buyers out there circulating and ready to put in an offer so
that they can put us on par with the likes of City, United, Barcelona, Real
Madrid, Chelsea and the other top European teams. The fans are fed up with the
clowns we've got in charge doing nothing other than making themselves wealthier
at our expense.
In the meantime, we will be facing one of the
worst defences in the Premier League, and I'm hoping that Kane, Son and the
others will relish this game… Then after this game, we've got Middlesbrough in
the FA Cup on Tuesday, followed by Everton at home the following Monday.
As for a top-four spot or even a Europa League
place… who knows… maybe we should just write this season off and hope that Levy
and Lewis get the message, that it will only be money being put into the
transfer kitty (not penny-pinching) that gets us out of our predicament that our
owners created for us (not themselves, but us, the true fans and supporters of
our club).
In the meantime, I will be travelling up to
Leeds on Friday afternoon from Cheltenham, where we've got a hotel booked. In
the evening, we then have a restaurant waiting for the four of us (Mel, Terry,
Ian and myself). The next day, up early for a midday kick-off... not the same old defeatist shit we've been getting, but a turn around in fortunes. We need to shake off that "Spursy" tag and show our fans, the pundits and the world we're nobody's fool... just there for others to laugh at and take the piss!
COYS!
All the best, Glenn
