Kane should not be sold

Kane should not be sold

In Don Scully’s article (“City want their man Kane and will fight to the bitter end for him (sell him!)”), he argues that Kane should be sold and that the club should rebuild for the future using the money they gain from Kane’s sale. I say no. What we should be doing is building a team around Kane, not eliminating him.

According to “reports,” City are determined to get “their man” at all costs, except the cost of what Daniel Levy would ask for (£160m). Well, that is not at all costs. Even City have their limits. I accept that City are a bigger club and superior spenders than Chelsea, United, Liverpool and even little ol’ Arsenal, but they have their restrictions.

Obviously, we are in a building process, and Kane can be at the centre of it. Nuno seems the right guy to lead us to glory, and until proven otherwise, we should back him. And we must not forget that he also said that “Kane is our player” and does not want him to go. That must show you the determination of our Coach and Levy to keep him.

Don Scully also says in his article that the papers “claim that Kane’s wish to move to the Etihad stadium”; this is just paper speculation, as they probably have nothing else to write about. The only thing the papers are good for is for wrapping chips in it.

Daniel Levy would be a fool to let a player go that is worth £160m. We could not afford to buy such a player, but we have got one amongst us. So let us use him to our advantage. I am sure that Levy realises that the only way the team can prosper is with players like Kane in the team, not selling them. All that will achieve is further decline down the league table and into the relegation zone, and I am sure that  Levy does not want that.

It has also been reported that Joe Lewis has been left “annoyed” with Kane for saying he wants to go. Has he actually said that? And how does anybody know what Joe Lewis thinks or not? Again total BS.

Don Scully also says that he could end up being a “dead donkey” if he stays at our club. That could apply to any player, and was not Danny Blanchflower 29 when he came to our club to help mastermind our double season? We need such experience, not throw them out with the waste.

Let us build for the future, but with Kane at the centre of that new project.
