So many managers to look at; we have got to get it right this time.
So many managers to look at; we have got to get it right this time.

Daniel Levy
gets a lot of stick because we have not got a manager in place yet. But we have
got to get it right. Daniel has learned that rushing
into things quickly, just to please the fans, will not work. For that (thinking
of the fans), you have got to take your hat off to Daniel for thinking of us
all. But it is not good business or football sense. Fans are not, nor should
they be, in the driving seat, and therefore, he must take firm control. Once that has come about, and we can start winning trophies, the
supporters will quickly forget about past failures (that is how fickle most
fans are).
Yesterday Glenn
Renshaw said in his article that Roberto Mancini has not been approached yet. However,
my understanding is that Tottenham are considering him or have considered him. I
do know that they have admiration for the Italian national team boss. And as we
have not yet confirmed anybody to succeed Jose Mourinho as the club’s new head
coach, there is a possibility he is still in the running.
Roberto Mancini
had spent three-and-a-half years as Manchester City manager between 2009 and
2013. In that time, he guided them to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Community
Shield. Which is a hell of a lot more than the cowboys we previously had
employed as managers’. From there, he went on to have stints in charge at
Galatasaray, Inter Milan and Zenit Saint Petersburg before taking up his
current position as Italian manager in May 2018. They now face Austria in the
knockout stages on Saturday, having already topped Group A by beating Wales, Switzerland and Turkey in the process.
But he is not
the only one being considered at the moment, there is Nuno Espirito Santo, the
former Wolves boss, who has held talks with Levy over the possibility of taking
charge of the club.
But what is essential
is that we get the right manager; after all, the previous no-Joe managers could
not muster a trophy between them. In fact, we have to go back to 2008 when we last
won a trophy.
Get it right
(the right manager in place) and add our magnificent stadium to the mix, and we
will be unbeatable and a great attraction to boot. We have quality players at
the club already in place, so we just need one or two extra recruitments to
compliment them, and then I could see trophies and honours falling out of the
sky in the next couple of years (fingers crossed). Granted, I do not expect our
next manager to achieve miracles overnight, so I will give him a couple of
seasons to get his house in order. After all, it took Sir Alex Ferguson 5 years
before he started winning things; after that, the heavens opened up for him.
