Preview: Chelsea v Spurs Sunday 29^th 4.30pm; A battle of the giants.

So far we've dismantled the two Manchester clubs and progressed in the Europa League. Oh, and we are currently top of the Premier League. Chelsea is the third big team we are now facing, and a victory over them will send out a significant signal.

I am confident and probably more confident that we will get silverware under Mourinho than I was under Pochettino.

So, here is to a successful result against Chelsea.

TEAM NEWS

Chelski

Christian Pulisic is back after a month out with a hamstring injury. His return means manager Frank Lampard has a fully-fit squad at his disposal.

Spurs

We are without defender Toby Alderweireld because of the groin problem he suffered against Manchester City last week. Hopefully, he will be back soon.

Jose Mourinho expects Steven Bergwijn, Hugo Lloris and Giovani Lo Celso to overcome the knocks that saw them miss Thursday's Europa League win.

Chelsea come into this game two points behind us, but with both clubs harbouring realistic hopes of being involved in a title race. Hopefully, when the final whistle is blown, we have increased our lead over the blues.

Frank Lampard's side have won their last six in all competitions - but none of those teams will pose as big a threat as us. Our recent record is seven wins in eight.

So, we have two teams in excellent form, with two managers who know each other's flaws and idiosyncrasies inside out. It should be a great game.

My thoughts and prediction

Mourinho's team showed masterclass when we beat Manchester City last weekend and hope to do the same when we face the Rent boys this Sunday. It was an excellent performance, and we are playing well, but I do feel that we need to score first for our game plan to be successful. Saying that United scored first against us, then straight away capitulated.

To be fair on Cheski they always seem to get a lot of goals and are the highest scorers in the Premier League this season, but I have faith in us.

I can't see it being a high scoring game.

Prediction: -1-0,2-0 or 2-1 to us.

Chelsea can win seven consecutive league and cup matches for the second time under Frank Lampard, after a run of seven from September to October 2019.

Edouard Mendy has kept seven clean sheets in 10 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, conceding just three goals - one of which came against Tottenham on his debut.

Spurs

A victory would give us our best start to a Premier League season, surpassing the 22 points we amassed after 10 games under Harry Redknapp in 2011-12.

Spurs will have been top of the Premier League table for at least seven days this season, more than in our previous 10 campaigns combined.

This is the latest point of a season we have started a full round of fixtures on top of the table since we led the standings after 23 games in January 1985.

Jose Mourinho is looking to avoid losing three consecutive league matches against the same manager or club for the first time in his career.
