Preview: Spurs v Brighton & Hove Albion. Sunday 1st Nov 19.15.
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
After our crap game (putting
it mildly) in the Europa League on Thursday evening, we are back down to earth
in the Premier League.
A win against the seagulls could
put us at the top (providing other results go our way). I am always optimistic,
so let us hope for the best.

TEAM NEWS
Spurs
Jose Mourinho is set to
rotate his squad after describing our performance in the midweek Europa League
defeat as poor. I am sure that using that word was for media consumption, where
he probably said "fucking shit!".
Eric Dier and Tanguy
Ndombele are expected to be fit after being rested for Thursday's game as a
precaution.
Brighton
Brighton captain Lewis Dunk
is banned and forward Alireza Jahanbakhsh is out with a hamstring problem. Their
midfielder Davy Propper has a slight chance of playing after returning from an injury.
Danny Welbeck could make his
first appearance for the Brighton. He was on the bench in their Monday's draw
with West Brom.
My thoughts and predictions
First of all, we must remember
that the team that plays against the Seagulls won't be the team that was humiliated on Thursday. So
I am expecting us to continue our good spirits and run in the league. The excellent
partnership between Kane and Son will continue with the others all playing an
important part.
Son is finally getting the recognition
he merits. He has been and will continue to be one of the significant assets
for the club (oh, and is lightning quick). As for Kane, well he has been massively inspiring too.
He drops off deeper sometimes so he can't be picked up, and is controlling events
from that position.
As for Dele; sadly, I think
his days are numbered. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think he is Mourinho's sort
of player, he certainly isn't putting 100% effort into his work and to play for Mourinho
you need 110% or you are out.
As for Brighton: they are
16th in the league but have been playing quite well of late. They've
created plenty of chances, but they have only one win to show for their efforts.
But that doesn't mean they can't rattle us or even sneak a win if we are not
100% focused.
My prediction: 4-0
I've predicted 4 because I
am sure that the team will want to show that the game against Royal Antwerp was only
a blip. And remember, Son and Harry Kane
have combined for nine Premier League goals this season
MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
We have won our past five
home meetings with Brighton in all competitions.
Brighton have lost six
successive away matches against Spurs.
The Seagulls haven't won at
Tottenham's ground since a 1-0 victory in October 1981.
Tottenham Hotspur
We are unbeaten in five
league matches (W3, D2).
We have scored a
league-high 16 goals going into this weekend.
However, we could go to
four home league fixtures without a win for the first time since December 2013.
Harry Kane has been
directly involved in 13 goals this season, the most ever recorded by a player
after six games of a Premier League campaign.
Kane's eight assists in six
Premier League appearances is already the most he has provided in an entire
season.
Son has scored 10 goals in
his past seven games in all competitions, with eight of those coming in the
Premier League.
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton have drawn their
past two matches and have won just once in the league this season (D2, L3).
Nonetheless, the Seagulls
have lost just one of their last 10 Premier League away games (W3, D6).
Albion have conceded seven
goals from set-pieces in the Premier League this season, the highest number in
the division.
They have lost 16 of their
past 18 Premier League away fixtures versus the established top-six teams (W1,
D1).
Neal Maupay has scored four
of Brighton's five first-half goals in this season's Premier League - the other
was an own goal.
So that is it folks—my
prediction, views and hopes.
Best regards, Glenn
COYS!
