It is official, Joe Hart is all heart where Spurs are concerned & Skippy skips to Norwich for a lesson or two.
Yes, Joe Hart signs for us on a free transfer. And he gets less wages
to-boot than he did at his previous clubs, making Daniel Levy a happy man. But
then again Hart has been around the block a few times and is a footballing
geriatric at the age of 33. It is reported that he will get something in the region
of £27,000, with add ons. It was reported that he was on about £50,000 at Burnley.
But then again he will be sitting on the bench most of his time with us,
playing second or third fiddle Lloris and his second.
Hart has travelled from Manchester city to Burnley to Tottenham Hotspur's
padded benches. He has signed a two-year deal. His contract at Burnley expired
on the 30th June.
As I previously reported, Joe Hart fell out of favour with the Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who arrived at City in 2016. All this while he was
still number one goalkeeper for England. He had loan spells at Torino and the Claret
Spammers struggling team before 2018 move a move up north to another struggling
club, Burnley.
After completing his medical, Joe Hart told Spurs, "I feel I've
got a lot of quality and a lot in the bank.".
He won the last of his 75 England caps in November 2017. He lost his
Burnley place to Tom Heaton midway through the first season of a two-year deal
and then spent 2019-20 on the bench behind Nick Pope.
The club announceJoe Hart's signing today (Tuesday) and he will compete
with Paulo Gazzaniga to be Hugo Lloris' number two. Joe also said, "I'm
here to help the team any way I can. Be it on the field, off the field, I'm
here to try and push the club forward. No getting away from it, it has been a
couple of difficult years for me on the football field - but I feel I've got so
much more to give."
So, there you have it. We have our third goalkeeper, who has replaced Vorm,
who left the club for the second time; he was recalled after initially leaving
the club.
Oliver Skipp signs for Norwich City on loan for 2020/21 season.
The one they call the future Spurs Captain has signed with Norwich to
get some air miles (games) under his belt so he can come back a fully formed
and fit first-team players for us. Well, that is the theory.
As we all know – or should know – Norwich City this season (2019/21)
was a disastrous one for them and were relegated at the end of it. Which means
that Skipp will be skipping all the way to the Championship and hopefully, by
the end of it into the arms of Mourinho and first team-Tottenham-football. We
wish the lad well.
Our 19-year-old England Under-21 international made 11 appearances for us
in 2019-20. He commented on the loan-transfer, "I'm delighted to sign for
Norwich. It's a club that's looking to go places," he told the club
website. He then went on and said, "This season is a big one for the club,
and we'll be looking to get back into the Premier League."
Whether he can get Norwich back into the Premier League with his skills
or not, he definitely will be expecting/ hoping that he will be there with Spurs
fighting for all the trophies that Mourinho goes for. It can only get better…
or at least that is the theory.
COYS!
Best Regards, Glenn
